Families USA is excited to open applications for our 2021 Health Equity Academy Fellowship!
The goal of the fellowship is to cultivate a group of advocates from across the country who are equipped to engage in federal and state health equity advocacy over a year-long period.
Fellows will attend two half-day trainings in September (September 10th and 17th from 12pm – 3:30pm ET), with the second day geared toward preparing fellows for virtual visits with congressional offices to advocate for policies that promote health equity.
Fellows will then join a national group of federal and state health equity advocates who reconvene on monthly calls to maintain relationships, discuss strategies for pursuing health equity in their own states/communities, and learn and share from one another.
- Selected fellows must have an expressed interest and/or experience working in at least one of the following areas:
- Maternal and Child Health
- Immigrant Health
- Candidates must work at community-based organizations or other nonprofits only: state/municipal/federal government employees will not be considered. Incomplete applications will also not be considered.
The deadline for application submissions is August 23, 2021.
