The Hospice of the Panhandle Center for Grief Support is facilitating a NEW support group called Gone Too Soon which is a support group for ANYONE who has lost a loved one to substance abuse. The next group starts April 7th!! See the details in the email attachment. Please distribute it to anyone you think may benefit.
We also have business sized cards (as a quick reference) to hand out to prospective bereavement clients who you think may benefit from having our information, even if they aren’t ready for the April 7th group. Please let me know if you’d like these cards to hand out and I will see that you get them.
Hospice of the Panhandle is a free grief resource in the community and we are utilized widely however, we’ve had very little success connecting the bereaved to this specific group. Our team believes that the stigma attached to substance abuse/use loss is the barrier. It is our goal to reduce that barrier and in doing so, calling on our community partners to help us reach those in need. We appreciate all that you might do to aide in that connection.
If you have questions about the bereavement services offered by Hospice of the Panhandle please feel free to email or call me at any time.
