West Virginia Family Grief Center

The West Virginia Family Grief Center (WVFGC) is a not for profit, 501(C)3, located in Morgantown, WV. The WVFGC provides peer support groups to children, teens and adults that have experienced the death of a family member. We are currently hiring for the position of Program Director. The Program Director is responsible for the coordination of all administrative aspects related to the operation of the program and serves as a liaison with families, the community and outside professionals. The ideal candidate for this position has a familiarity with the grief and a passion for helping others in their grief journey. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a background in mental health and exceptional organizational skills.

 

Job Title: Program Director

 Hours: Part time position – approximately 20 hours per month unstructured time to complete various duties and 10 structured in person hours per month for Night of Service of Service program delivery and Monthly Board Meeting.  Potential additional time commitment for special events, speaking engagements, etc.

 Requirements: The ideal candidate for this position has a professional familiarity with grief and a passion for helping others in their grief journey. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a background in mental health and exceptional organizational skills.

 

Estimated Time Commitment

  • Position is a part time position with a monthly stipend
  • Nine in person hours per month for Night of Service Program Delivery and Monthly Board Meeting.
  • Approximately 20 hours per month unstructured time, to complete other duties.
  • Potential additional time commitment for special events, speaking engagements, etc

Job Duties:

  • Marketing of program services to the community and professional organization. Attending community speaking engagements and providing outreach as available in the community.
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising of group facilitators and other volunteers.
  • Communicating with and providing program reports to WVFGC Board of Directors. Attending monthly Board Meeting.
  • Conducting intake sessions with new families and follow up with families throughout their use of the program.
  • Attend, in person, Grief Center “Night of Service” the second and fourth Thursday of the month, to manage logistics of program delivery and conduct pre and post group facilitator meetings.
  • Assist with fundraising events and grant writing.
