PAYING IT FORWARD: FUNDAMENTALS OF CLINICAL SUPERVISION

This beginning level course will allow individuals new to supervision to become familiar with the purpose and process of clinical supervision. This 6-hour training meets the requirements set by the WV Board of Social Work for Clinical Social Workers to be qualified to provide clinical supervision.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will learn to
. Appreciate the importance of supervision in mentoring new practitioners
. Compare and contrast the various models of supervision
. Differentiate between supervision, consultation and therapy
. Understand the regulations of the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners regarding licensure and supervision
. Identify the qualities and skills of the supervisor that promote effective supervision
. Identify the learning style of the supervisee
. Understand the competencies underlying clinical supervision
. Review the ethical and legal considerations involved in supervision
